Ohio State Sits 12th After Opening Round in Chapel Hill

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Ohio State women’s golf team sits in 12th place after one round at the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational Friday at UNC Finley Golf Course.

Junior Adeena Shears paced the Buckeyes with four birdies and sits in a tie for 19th after 18 holes. Senior Niki Schroeder bounced back with a pair of back-nine birdies to shoot a 3-over 75 to tie for 42nd while freshman Lauren Peter is tied for 52nd after a 4-over 76. Sophomore Yukie Sasaki carded a 5-over 77 to tie for 68th after the opening round while junior Alex Wright is tied for 85th after a 7-over 79.

Through 18 holes, the Buckeyes sit in a tie for fifth in par-4 scoring at 4-over as a team while Shears is tied for fifth in par-5 scoring at 2-under.
