COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s basketball team prepped for its 2018-19 campaign with an 81-63 exhibition with over UNC Pembroke Thursday night at Value City Arena.

Micah Potter led Ohio State with 13 points to go along with six rebounds while Kaleb Wesson notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Kyle Young, Luther Muhammad and Jaedon LeDee each added nine points for the Buckeyes, who open the regular season at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Cincinnati.

The Buckeyes used a 28-13 advantage on the boards and a 24-4 lead in points in the paint to hold a 42-24 lead after the opening 20 minutes. Ohio State shot 48.4 percent from the field before the break as Muhammad tallied a team-high nine points and Potter and Wesson added eight apiece. Eight Buckeyes scored and 11 played in the opening stanza.

Much like the first half when Ohio State began the contest on a 9-0 run, the Buckeyes started the second half on an 11-0 spurt to put the game away. All 13 eligible Buckeyes saw time in the second half as Ohio State continued to stretch its lead.
