Science CommunicationUndergraduateCommunications, astronomy, other science departments as interestedMichael Slater, David Weinbergslater.59, weinberg.21 @osu.eduThe working notion is that this certificate would involve two to three Communications courses (which already exist) and one to two field-specific courses taught in science departments or jointly between a science department and Communications. Astronomy is sketching design of a course on "Astronomy for the Public". We welcome interest from other departments! A four course version in Communication would be available for departments that do not want to create a companion course but want the option of having majors get a certificate in Science Communication. Molecular Genetics would be interested in this either as a department or as a wider biology focus . Psychology teaches a class on how to talk to the public about science in a museum setting (Psych 5700 -- Training in Science Education Outreach) and we'd love to connect with you more generally! Our class is also cross-listed as Ling5700 and EduTL 5700 and is open to both grads and undergads
