Get ready to dodge, duck, dip and dive at the Ohio State Faculty and Staff Dodgeball Classic.
When: Thursday, December 15, 2022
Where: Recreation Physical Activity Center - Upper Gym
Time: 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
Dodgeball is an exciting, fast-paced game in which players use their agility, strategy and teamwork to knock out members of the opposing team using rubber-coated foam balls. Teams face off against each other in matches and a single-elimination bracket until one team emerges victorious. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams and the team voted to have the best team name. All participants will be eligible to win raffle prizes. Team costumes/uniforms are strongly encouraged!
You do not need an RPAC membership to compete. The deadline to register is Monday, December 12.

11-11:30 a.m. - Registration
11:30-11:45 a.m. - Opening remarks
11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. - DODGEBALL
Game Rules
Rules were adopted from USA Dodgeball.
- Each team will have 4-6 players on each side
- All players must be current employees of the university and/or medical center
- You are allowed to have 1 alternate for the game, however:
- Alternates are not able to sub in throughout the game; whoever starts the game must finish
- We kindly ask that the alternate be used sparingly throughout the event to not provide a competitive advantage
- There are only 6 prizes for the winning team.

- Each court will have a total of six dodgeballs
- The dodgeball playing field shall be held within the volleyball court lines
- Players can leave the boundary to retrieve the ball ONLY
- Matches will be five minutes long
- Match will end either at the five-minute mark or if everyone on a team is tagged out
- If there are still players on the court from both teams, the team with more players wins
- If it is even – the first team to get an opposing team member out wins
- A player is considered out if:
- They are tagged with a ball below the shoulders
- The ball they threw at the opposing team was caught (a member of the team who catches the ball returns to play)
- They step over the dividing line of scrimmage
- Teams can bring in a person who is considered out if they catch the opposing team’s ball in the air
- There is no swearing, roughhousing, or arguing/taunting with the referee
- Referees have the ultimate decision on the court
