The design and construction of a flight center to house the FBO, airport administration, and flight education has been approved by The Ohio State University Board of Trustees. Groundbreaking for the $13.4 million phase two construction project is planned for July 2017, with the building opening in January 2019.

The first phase of the project, four new t-hangar buildings, will add 54 bays of new space to the existing 50 bays and is currently under construction at the east end. These hangars are expected to open in July 2017.

Total project budget between the two phases is $20 million, to be provided by development and university funds.
